Chicken Tenders to feel good about. Plus you can freeze them!

Chicken tenders are a staple food for any busy household. The ones packaged at the store leave much to be desired. Here is a simple recipe with simple ingredients. No guessing whats in them and with the ability to freeze and throw into the oven, they are the best quick dinner or after school snack. We usually make them on the weekend and eat again throughout the week for lunch :)

What you will need:

Marinade:

2lbs chicken tenderloins - 2 Packs from us makes 12 tenders

(may want to cut the tender out)

1 1/2 cup milk

1 1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 paprika

Chicken breading:

2 cups flour

1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1 1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon pepper

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1 teaspoon seasoned salt

4 tablespoons milk

Instructions:

  1. Put tenders in gallon bag and mix with marinade ingredients. Massage mixture into chicken and put in fridge for 4-24 hours.

  2. In large bowl mix dry breading ingredients, stir till blended well. Then add milk and stir till there is a bit of clumping.

  3. Get a baking sheet with foil to put the tenders on as you bread them.

  4. Toss tenders in breading mixture with a fork. Push hard into the breading so the mixture sticks well to the chicken. Let rest on the baking sheet as you bread them all.

  5. Fry tenders in either a pan with 3/4 canola oil or a deep frier. Get oil to 350 degrees before adding a few tenders at a time.

  6. Remove when golden brown and internal temp reaches 165 degrees

  7. Let rest and enjoy.

If frozen, set oven to 350-400 degrees and cook for 15-20mins.

Please let us know how your family enjoyed the tenders and we love seeing pictures of kids enjoying a home cooked meal :)
